According to Ayurveda, there are three types of personalities found in humans which are Vata (Movement), Pitta (Heat) and Kapha (Gravity). A Vata personality may apply almond oil or sesame oil. A Pitta personality may apply coconut and a Kapha person could choose sesame oil or olive oil.

Application Of Scalp Massage Oils:

In order to receive full benefits of massage oil, it is recommended to heat it in a small steel vessel over a stove for not more than 10 seconds. Add 9 to 10 drops of oil into the vessel. Take a cotton ball and dip it into the vessel containing the oil and spread evenly on the scalp. After all the oil is added to the scalp, spread it even more using your fingers. It is very important to note that the oil reaches the roots of hair so that it makes it strong and healthy. The oils can also be massaged on your entire body. Oils are known to seep deep into the skin and fulfill nutrition that is extremely essential for the body.

It is recommended to massage the scalp with oil at least three to four times in a week. Oil should be applied right before bedtime and washed off the next day. Most dermatologists recommend the use of herbal shampoos and conditioners as it does not contain any kind of harmful chemicals and are perfectly healthy for the hair.
