Scalp Massage Oil

Massage oils are a very important aspect in almost all types of massages.



Massage oils help to relax the body and also provide nutrition. Though massage oils are usually used on scalps, they are also widely used on the entire body for complete nutrition and relaxation. There are various natural oils which are easily available at supermarkets. In Ayurveda, it is mentioned that a person should choose an oil according to his personality or behavior.



According to Ayurveda, there are three types of personalities found in humans which are Vata (Movement), Pitta (Heat) and Kapha (Gravity). A Vata personality may apply almond oil or sesame oil. A Pitta personality may apply coconut and a Kapha person could choose sesame oil or olive oil.

Application of Scalp Massage Oils:

In order to receive full benefits of massage oil, it is recommended to heat it in a small steel vessel over a stove for not more than 10 seconds.



Add 9 to 10 drops of oil into the vessel. Take a cotton ball and dip it into the vessel containing the oil and spread evenly on the scalp. After all the oil is added to the scalp, spread it even more using your fingers. It is very important to note that the oil reaches the roots of hair so that it makes it strong and healthy. The oils can also be massaged on your entire body. Oils are known to seep deep into the skin and fulfill nutrition that is extremely essential for the body.

Benefits of Scalp Massage Oils:

Oils have been a very popular concept for over hundreds of years. It was seen that oil vitalizes the skin and also provides nutrition. Oil is also instrumental in treating various skin related diseases. Oil also provides a noticeable luster to the hair.

Types of Scalp Massage Oils:

Some of the beneficial oils are Indian gooseberries oil, olive oil, avocado oil, almond oil, neem oil and many more. Coconut oil is considered to be the “king” of all natural oils. Coconut oil is believed to contain vital nutrients which are extremely beneficial for development of the body.

It is recommended to massage the scalp with oil at least three to four times in a week. Oil should be applied right before bedtime and washed off the next day. An herbal shampoo and conditioner are recommended so that it does not damage your hair. Most dermatologists recommend the use of herbal shampoos and conditioners as it does not contain any kind of harmful chemicals and are perfectly healthy for the hair.
