Yoga Therapy for Migraine Headaches – Integrated approach

The integrated approach of yoga therapy for migraine headaches is responsible for helping alleviate the pain of thousands of sufferers around the globe.

If practised regularly, it even helps heal migraine headaches completely. It consists of an hour’s daily practice.

This includes around half an hour physical practices that is followed by Pranayama and Nadanusandhana. The integrated approach of yoga therapy for migraine headaches has been designed to provide very deep rest to the body mind complex.

Hopefully, it also helps reverse the negative habit of triggering chemical imbalances that result in migraine.

Even though migraine has taken a long time to show up as headache, it now proceeds almost as the body’s immediate response to any small trigger. As a result it manifests as a headache. As a consequence migraine headache is just the nervous system’s habit, which results in a chemical imbalance.

Yoga therapy for migraine headaches: Head Rolls – Left and Right

  1. Start in Tadasana or sitting in a chair, back, neck head in a straight line.
  2. As you exhale roll your head to the left as far as you can.
  3. You may go as far as your ear touching your shoulder. Hold the position for a while.
  4. Then, as you inhale roll your head back to the center
  5. Again as you exhale roll as your head to your right as far as you can.
  6. Again, you may go as far as your ear touching your shoulder. Hold the position for a while.
  7. As you inhale, roll your head back until you are back to the center. This constitutes one round.
  8. Rock your head sideways to your left. Then rock your head to your left slowly in this way 5 times.

Imagine a headband that an athlete with long hair uses as you play.  Your right and left movements should be along that make-believe headband.
