Eagle Pose – Garudasana

Technique

1. Stand in Tadasana, The Mountain Pose.

2. Bend your knees slightly and, balancing on your right foot, cross your left thigh over the back of your right leg.

3. Point your left toes toward the floor and then hook the top of your foot behind your lower right calf.

4. Now you are balancing on your right foot.

5. Cross your arms in front of your torso so that your right arm is above the left, elbows bent.

6. Now raise your forearms up as far as you can.

7. The palms of your hands should be facing each other.

8. Hold the posture for as long as possible, then unwind your legs and arms.

9. Stand in Tadasana again, then repeat for the same length of time with the arms and legs reversed.

If you have trouble balancing, rest your butt against a wall.
