Bridge Pose - Sethu Bandhasana

Technique

1. To start with lie down on your back with your hands at your side.





2. Fold your legs to place your feet close to your hips, about six inches apart.





3. Hold your hands under your back, palms supporting your hips.


4. Begin by gently raising your hips.




5. Thereafter, raise your tailbone slowly and continue lifting your spine.

6. Now, support yourself with your elbows on the floor.

7. Gradually, try to straighten out your legs and keep your knees straight and close together. Feet should ideally point forwards.


8. Take a couple of slow, deep breaths and hold the pose for as long as possible.

9. To come out of the pose, first bring your feet close to your hips, then lower your back to the floor, then release your arms.
