Yoga postures to improve flexibility
Yoga is an approach, which focuses on the wholesome health of the individual. The various postures of yoga improve the flexibility of the person. Yoga and flexibility are interlinked. Certain amount of flexibility is necessary for practicing yoga. Yoga, in turn, provides flexibility to the person who undertakes it regularly. Flexibility or pliability helps to withstand all kinds of physical and mental stress, thereby decreasing the risk of injury. Flexibility is the maximum range of movement or motion that is possible by a joint. Being flexible also helps to avert simple injuries. Stretching is one of the best ways to achieve flexibility. It also decreases the tension on muscles and helps in smooth movement. Flexibility provides relief from muscle soreness and improves the posture of the individual.
It also helps to hasten the recovery period, in case of any illness or health condition. Strenuous activity results in accumulation of lactic acid, which results in fatigue and muscle soreness. It gets dissolved into the blood stream, thereby preventing any kind of hindrance during contraction of muscles. About three to four weeks of continuous practice helps to achieve some visible changes.

Yoga is a wholesome approach that trains the whole body and helps opposite muscles to function in a proper manner. Yoga improves the flexibility, which in turn reduces all kinds of physical and psychological tension. Neglect is one of the common causes of a problem. Flexibility of the body helps in the release of many blockages, thereby increasing the circulation. It also helps in the purification of blood. Self definition and awareness of the self is better with yoga practice. Increase in sensitivity is one of the initial signals of rediscovery, through yoga. Stretching in yoga improves flexibility, which in turn releases the unwanted metabolites and toxins and helps to detoxify the system. Proper clothes also contribute, as loose fitting clothes help in better practice. This, in turn increases the flexibility of the individual. Nevertheless, the effort and perseverance of the individual determines the time necessary to become flexible.
