It’s likely that you have loose and hanging skin because you’ve lost weight drastically or have been pregnant or do not have well toned skin. You may be healthy and fit, but you may still have loose skin. While several people opt for tummy tucks, mommy makeovers and face lifts to tighten the loose skin, you can use a combination of workouts and yoga to tone up your skin. Before you try any yoga postures, it’s advisable to join a yoga class and train under a professional yoga teacher. You should concentrate on exercises that will tone up the skin in particularly in the required area – for instance, if you have loose skin in the abdominal area, and then you’ll need to do exercises for that area.

Yoga For Toning Up Abdominal Skin: You can practice yoga abdominal exercises to tone up the hanging abdominal skin. These exercises will help to tighten up the skin on the stomach and below the navel. There are a few yoga exercises that tighten up the rectus abdominal. Since these are intense exercises, don’t push yourself too much and refrain from doing these if you suffer from back pain.

Cobra Yoga: This posture tones up your stomach area as well as strengthens and opens up the chest, invigorates the nervous system, energizes the kidneys and straightens your spine.

Upward Facing Dog Posture: This is quite like the Cobra position, and you’ll be lifting your body higher and the entire weight of your body will be supported by the tip of your feet and hands. This is a very good posture to tone up your abdominal area.

Facial Yoga To Tone Up Facial Skin: While several people resort to cosmetic surgery to tighten up the loose, sagging facial skin, you can try facial yoga to tone up your face. Facial yoga comprises of a set of exercises to help your face relax by exercising and strengthening your facial muscles and improving the blood circulation.

  • Palming is one such facial yoga exercise that can relax and tone up the skin around your eyes.
  • The Great Rub is a massage technique that will increase the blood circulation.
  • The Lion Face is another exercise that improves blood circulation, reduces wrinkles and relaxes the jaw.
  • The Brow Smoother, as the name suggests, relaxes, smoothes and tones up the skin around the eyebrows. Try this regularly and you won’t need a Botox injection!

Yoga And Dance For The Lower Body: A workout that uses a combination of yoga and dance can sculpt your lower body and help you tone up. This workout is based on the principle that: yoga postures will increase your flexibility and improve muscle tone; meditation will calm your mind; ballet will help you build strength and balance; and, dance will burn up the fat reserves and calories.
