Yoga is considered very challenging and fulfilling. It stretches your will power and paves your journey towards self-improvement. Yoga imparts mind body balance and provides freshness to the body. The body stays active and fresh which helps you take up your routine activities with great interest.

Yoga can be practiced any time of the day but it is recommended that you practice yoga early morning when the air is fresh and the environment is clean and pure. Yoga can also be taken up before going to bed but early morning yoga exercises are proved to show quick and better results on the body. Among various exercises of yoga, the breathing exercise called Pranayama should always be undertaken so as to avail greater benefits from Yoga.

The stretch and strain exercises of yoga provide mobility to the body and increase flexibility. These exercises can be done either in the mornings or before going to bed. You can incorporate it in your work or routine as per your convenience. There are some people who practice yoga only on weekends due to their hectic schedule. Later on when they experience the benefits of yoga, they make time for it almost everyday.

Other forms of exercise besides yoga require your body to make fast vigorous movements. They have repetitive actions and that often leads to stress and exhaustion. Yoga poses on the other hand, involve movements that bring stability and liveliness to your body, mind and soul.

Start gradually by incorporating yoga twice a week along with your workout routine. Do a series of postures within a short period of time – approximately 15 minutes. Revitalize your mind and body by practicing yoga early morning on an empty stomach.

  • Mountain Pose (Tadasana)
  • Triangle Pose (Trikonasana)
  • Crescent Moon Pose
  • Dog Pose
  • Double Leg Raises
  • Hands to Feet (Pada Hastasana)
  • Wheel Pose (Chakrasana)
  • Fish Pose (Matsyasana)

Other forms of yoga include simple exercises that are recommended for one to begin with. These are dead corpse posture (Shavasana) and Lotus posture (Padmasana). When one gains command over these postures, one can always take up other complex postures of yoga as a part of routine yogic exercises.

Incorporate yogic stretching in conjunction with other types of exercise. This will greatly aid in minimizing all potential aliments that may occur over time from these other forms of exercise.
