How Can I Do Yoga When My Legs Cramp

The human limbs, most importantly our legs are vital body parts. They bear all the weight of our body everyday and take us around yet we forget to relax them or care for them. The result, we face constant joint pains, cramming and cramping of legs. These are signs that your legs are not in proper shape or creating a body imbalance. Yoga is one exercise, which helps you in making your body aware of your bodily dis-functions and works to put them back in order.

Luckily Yoga has a lot to offer for your problem of legs cramming. You have to just practice a few Asanas (poses), which will help in solving your problems. You can practice some easy poses. They are:

Virasana (Hero Pose): This pose is one of the most important pose for the health of your feet. All you have to do is flex the top half of your foot and at the same time extend the ankle while relaxing the sole of the foot. This exercise helps in toning the foot muscles and giving a good shape to your legs and feet. The pose also helps in aligning various bones in the feet by applying pressure on the feet and making the toes flexible.

Vajrasana (Thunder Pose): This pose also possesses many healing properties for your leg. It also resembles the Virasana and helps in increasing the suppleness to your foot and ankle region. It also helps in increased blood circulation to your feet making them active. Other Asanas (poses), which one can practice is Cobbler Pose, toe stretches and various standing poses.

There are tremendous advantages of Yoga Asanas for your legs. Firstly it helps in strengthening your muscles and tissues of your legs. They act as a healing effect to the various joints and connective tissues in your feet. The poses also realign various bones in the legs aiding in proper functioning of the body. One can notice an improved blood circulation to the legs thus keeping the feet fresh all day. They also help in toning and lengthening your leg muscles giving them a good definition and shape.

So the next time if you’ve had a long day at work with those critical presentations or shopping for your favorite clothes around the town for hours, don’t sweat. Just try some Yoga Asanas and get moving.
