You have not specified whether you are a man or a woman. This is extremely important in making a decision regarding the loose skin around your navel. For instance, if you are a man, this could simply be a result of rapid weight loss. However, if you are a woman, this could be a result of other things too. For instance, childbirth is one of the things that can have this kind of an effect on your skin. So if you have recently, or even long ago, delivered a baby, this could be a possible reason for the looseness of the skin in this area. In either case, your best bet is to adopt a two fold approach to work this off. The first thing to do is, to tone your stomach muscles. If you have not yet started, you need to follow an exercise regimen to do this specifically. Whether you do this in a gym or at home, make sure you are exercising the correct way. You should not hurt yourself by suddenly starting any rigorous exercise routines. Stomach crunches are usually the most effective remedial measure to use. Bending down and touching your toes is also a very effective way to lose weight in the stomach area. But please keep in mind that the exercises should be done on a regular basis, otherwise they will not be of much use.

The second step in your attempts should be to try and tone the skin in the area. This can be done by regularly massaging the skin so that it becomes more elastic and supple and it goes back to its original shape more easily. An excellent substance to use for this massage is olive oil. This will be very useful in maintaining the texture of your skin as well. Alternately, you can also use a collagen rich substance such as pure vitamin E oil. Collagen is the substance that provides natural elasticity to your skin. This is what will help the skin to somewhat go back to the way it originally was. However, please do not have any unrealistic expectations after using these methods. Not only will the elasticity of your skin take a long time to return, it will also be extremely slow in coming. Keep in mind that you have to be extremely persistent and this is what will make the most difference, in the success of your attempts.
