Treating Rash & Itching Due To Flea Bites

Flea bites are caused by fleas by cutting through skin and sucking blood from the accessible parts of the body. Keeping the affected area clean and dry can help reduce chances of infection. The scars over the body will reduce over time. Applying a paste made of green gram and yoghurt will help to exfoliate the skin. Keep the mixture on your skin for ten minutes before rinsing it off with cold water. This home remedy also helps lighten the scars. Another effective home remedy is to lighten the scars using an emulsion of ground radish seeds with water. This paste can be applied on the skin to lighten the scars. Cooling packs of cucumber and fullers earth mixed with rose water can also cleanse and soothe the skin. A mixture of honey, olive oil, sandalwood powder and turmeric is also known to soothe the skin and lighten the complexion. Juices of watermelon and tomato can also be applied on the affected areas to cleanse the skin and also lighten scars.

Keeping fleas at bay should help reduce risks of flea infestation and flea bites. Dusting diatomaceous earth helps avoid flea infestation on pets and around the house. Diatomaceous earth dehydrates the fleas and kills them in the process. It is also important to maintain adequate pet hygiene to prevent pet fleas and consequent flea bites. Insects and pests can also be kept at bay with the regular use of insecticides and pesticides.
