My Complexion has turned into very dark, suggest suitable diets to become fairer skin

As you have stated that your skin has now become dark, I take it that you originally had a fair skin tone. The darkening of your skin could be on account of prolonged sun exposure. This is commonly referred to as a tan and is caused by the harsh ultra violet rays of the sun. A tan is caused due to an increase in the amount of melanin in the skin. Melanin is a pigment which determines the color of one’s skin. Those with lighter skin tones generally have a lower concentration of this pigment in their skin as compared to people with darker skin tones. Melanocytes are cells, responsible for producing this pigment. When the skin is exposed to sunlight, the UV rays stimulate these pigment producing cells, causing them to increase the production of melanin. Thus, an increase in the amount of melanin in the skin gives it a tanned or darkened appearance.

Diet For Fair Skin

There is no particular type of food that will help in restoring your original skin tone. However, following a well balanced dietary regime will definitely make your skin look healthier. Avoid consuming fast foods, oily foods and junk foods. These are bad for the both the skin as well as for the body. Green leafed vegetables and fresh fruits are great for the skin; they will give it a healthy glow. Pulses and white cereals would also be beneficial, so try and incorporate them into your daily diet. It is important to keep the skin well hydrated by drinking lots of water. This will also help in flushing out toxins and other unwanted wastes from the body. Apart from this you could try a few of these home remedies to lighten your skin tone. Grind a few mint leaves into a fine paste and apply it onto your skin. The application has to be rinsed off after 15 minutes.

Mix together equal quantities of lemon juice and rose water. Apply this mixture on the tanned area and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water. This should be performed twice a day regularly, till you see visible results. Make a mixture by combining half a teaspoon of almond oil and a teaspoon each of lemon juice, honey and milk powder. This should then be applied on to the affected area. Rinse the application off after about 15-20 minutes. This remedy will leave your skin feeling smooth while also giving it a natural glow.
