What Cause Retrograde Ejaculation

Retrograde Ejaculation is also very commonly referred to as dry orgasm. When a person suffers from this condition, the sperm, during ejaculation, instead of being released from the penis goes up into the bladder, or the amount of sperm may be low. Although this is not considered to be a serious health condition, it can hamper the ability of a man to father a child due to the reduced levels of semen being released during an orgasm. Symptoms of this condition include cloudy urine post orgasm and a low quantity of semen during ejaculation. Let us look at what happens when retrograde ejaculation or dry orgasm occurs. The bladder neck muscle, which is present at the opening of the bladder, is responsible for preventing semen from flowing back into the bladder, by constricting itself. When this particular muscle does not function in the manner that it is supposed to, the semen then flows back into the bladder.

Certain medications meant for mood disorders, such as tranquilizers could cause these muscles to stay loose, medical conditions such as nerve damage that results from diabetes could also at times result in dry orgasms. Removal of the prostrate or bladder and injury to the spine or bladder could lead to this particular condition too. Treatment of this condition will depend upon the cause as well as the desired outcome. If it has been brought about due to diabetes, then controlling symptoms may help in curing this condition. If it is a side effect of certain kinds of medication, then patients may be helped, by switching them over to a medication which does not cause retrograde ejaculation. A few may need surgery while on the other hand some may be unable to fix it, especially if there is permanent damage or injury to the spine or pelvis.

Successful treatment may occur in certain cases, through the use of various medications, which are aimed at tightening the concerned muscles, so that a larger amount of semen leaves the penis. Even if medical treatment does not yield positive results, retrograde ejaculation does not affect the ability of having an orgasm or maintaining an erection and does not lead to erectile dysfunction. Unfortunately, home remedies cannot aid in curing this condition. You will have to visit your doctor and take the prescribed medications in order to effectively treat this condition. However, regular exercise and a healthy diet will also go a long way in improving the results.
