Your skin constantly faces a barrage of chemicals from pollution to callous chemically formulated products. They strip your skin of its natural balance, but these simple Ayurvedic home remedies will certainly help you to have a clear, healthy and glowing complexion. Ayurveda has a lot of simple natural ways to maintain a healthy and glowing complexion, without having to suffer the side effects of the chemicals.

  1. For cleansing your skin: Dip a piece of cotton wool in raw milk and wipe it on your face with it.

    It makes sure to clean hidden dirt by going down to the pores.
  2. Natural skin moisturizer: For normal skin mix a tbsp orange juice and a tbsp lemon juice in a cup of yoghurt and make a paste. Apply the paste on your face and keep it on for around fifteen minutes, then clean it off with a wet tissue.
  3. For a clear healthy complexion: Mix equal proportions of cucumber juice, lime juice and rose water. Wash your face and apply the mixture overnight, and then rinse off in the morning.
  4. To remove pimples, blackheads and other stains of the skin: Blend equal proportions of lime juice, rose water and glycerin and apply this lotion to your face regularly at bedtime.
  5. To remove unwanted hair: Take equal quantities of turmeric powder – arhar and wheat flour and make a paste with sesame oil – till oil. Apply it to the face

  1. For relief from coughs and colds dissolve a 1/2 tsp. of turmeric powder in half a cup of hot sweetened milk and drink. Repeat this morning and night for 7 days.
  2. For relief from severe cough, warm a tsp. each of ginger juice and honey and have just before sleeping, to bring. Repeat every night for 7 days.
  3. For relief from common colds, a drop or two of eucalyptus oil add to water for steam inhalation gives excellent results.
  4. For chest congestion, make a brew of tea leaves, mint, and a bit of ginger, mix in a dash of honey; sip hot to give relief.
  5. For relief from mouth sores and ulcers, just sprinkle a mixture of powdered cardamom and rock sugar over your tongue, gums and inner cheeks to get. Repeat this 3 – 4 times a day.
  6. For relief from motion sickness, keep a clove and a cardamom in your mouth while traveling.
