Our hair grows at an average rate of about six inches a year. That works out to about two inches in four months which is exactly the time period that you have set out to grow your hair in. But, there is no formula to make hair grow dramatically in that period of time. The health and beauty of hair need patience and discipline. Steps to grow your hair wouldn’t be effective without maintaining a balanced diet, avoiding stress, and protecting your hair from abuse; like harsh weather, chemical treatments, and excessive use of styling products and equipments. All these create problems like dandruff and split ends, which restrict the growth of hair. Avoid intake of excessive caffeine, nicotine, and junk food. A balanced diet that includes nutrients like minerals, vitamins, proteins, and calcium is also important for healthy and long hair. It’s also very important to get enough rest daily.

Hair Growth Tips

There are many other ways to expedite the growth of your hair. Firstly, make it a practice to oil your hair at least twice a week. Oil percolates right down to the roots and strengthens them. For an effective oil treatment, mix and heat coconut oil, olive oil and castor oil, and massage your hair and scalp thoroughly with it. Keep it on overnight, or for at least two hours, and wash your hair off with a mild shampoo. Applying warm almond oil regularly on scalp also improves hair growth. You can also mix half a cup of rosemary with water and wash your hair with it. Rosemary is known to boost hair growth well. Just like rosemary, lavender oil is also very effective in hair growth.
