Dolphin Pose – This pose helps to tone your upper back. To perform this pose, stand on a yoga mat with both your feet together. Come on the floor with your knees and hands. Set your knees below your hips and your shoulders directly above your wrists with your forearms on the floor. Press your palms together firmly on the floor along with your forearms. Exhale, curl your toes under and lift your knees away from the floor. You may keep your heels lifted away from the floor and knees slightly bent at first. Try to press your tailbone lightly towards the pubis and lengthen it away from the back of your pelvis. Lift the sitting bones toward the ceiling against this resistance and draw your inner legs up into the groins. Actively continue to press your forearms into the floor. Widen your shoulder blades and firm them against your back. Draw them away from your spine but toward the tailbone. Hold your head only between the upper arms. Take care not to hang your head or press it heavily against the floor. If you are comfortable in this pose then straighten your knees, hold in this pose for 30 seconds breathing normally. Exhale and release your knees to the floor.
