Healing And Yoga CenterHealing and Yoga centers are mushrooming all over the place, all over the world, almost daily.
This article deals mostly with what to look for in a Yoga center as well as in a Yoga instructor or teacher. Today there are almost as many forms of Yoga as there are months of the year: Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Bikram Yoga, Mantra Yoga, Purna Yoga, Dahn Yoga, Power Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Sivananda Yoga, to name a few (quite a lot, actually. But the list goes on and on.
Almost all the major Yoga ashramas and centers around the world conduct regular teaching training programs or courses.
Each of them churns out no less than 100 at a time. Imagine this happening in 10 sites in your state. Multiply them by10 states of a nation and by around 50 nations of the world and the number is simply staggering.
Wart’s more is that all these courses are being conducted periodically and on a regular basis. And not all the grads are content to belong to other centers or studios. As they progress with their practices and teaching they aspire to start their own set-ups. And start they do.
So how do you know whom to choose? For one thing, check both the certification and its authenticity. Talk to friends and friends of friends. Check out how they’re doing. Above all check out their healing capabilities. A good Yoga center or instructor has to have had, over time, mastered Yoga therapy and acquired certain Yogic healing skills. Ask if they know about Pranic healing (that, predominantly, comes through the practice of pranayama).
Also out the studio’s license, the airiness and ventilation of the studio or centre, is it adequately sound proof and, above all, do they have and emergency room. You never can tell. Things happen, even in a Yoga class, like twists and sprains or falls, especially during warm ups or Surya Namaskar. Don’t hesitate to make enquiries and ask queries, particularly if you happen to have a health condition.
Happy yogging.
