Yoga Therapy For Stretch Marks & Healthy Glowing Skin

Yoga therapy help you to lose excess weight and tone your body. They also help to flush out the toxins from your body and give a healthy glow to your skin. When the elastic fibers of your skin get damaged they result in stretch marks. Stretch marks occur in men just as much as they occur in women. Most of the women get stretch marks after pregnancy but it could also happen to women without it. Stretch marks occur when there is sudden weight gain. Your skin is elastic and when it has to stretch suddenly, to expand and cover your body, to accumulate the rapid weight gain; it causes tiny tears in the skin resulting in stretch marks. The tears occur in the deepest layer of your skin and look like streaks on the upper layers of your skin. Stretch marks are also known as Striae Gravidarum and can be dark brown, reddish brown or pink depending on the color and texture of your skin. Stretch marks may appear on different areas of your body such as the thighs, hips, abdominal area, breasts and upper arms or lower back.

Men and women are both equally susceptible to stretch marks. Pregnant women get stretch marks because the growing foetus causes the skin to stretch, as it has to accommodate the rapid growth inside the body. Some people get stretch marks due to rapid growth spurts during puberty. Stretch marks may also be caused due to corticosteroids and Cushing's syndrome. There are several skin treatments that you can use to get rid of stretch marks like glycolic peels, topical creams, dermabrasion, cosmetic surgery, and laser treatment.

There are different kinds of lasers used to remove stretch marks depending on the color and severity of stretch marks. Chemical peels work by removing several layers of skin and help in stimulating the collagen production. A therapy known as blue light uses light and gel to reduce and remove stretch marks. A plastic surgery for your abdomen or a tummy tuck will help to tighten the skin and will provide contours to the wall of your stomach. Thus the removal of excess skin results in the removal of stretch marks. Another procedure known as microdermabrasion involves the use of tiny particles to scrub the skin. This is done to remove the epidermal skin that eventually helps to remove the stretch marks. Keeping the skin well hydrated and moisturized helps to prevent stretch marks.
