How To Get Fair Skin

A fair complexion is matter of simply reversing a chemical reaction that happens to the skin pigment melanin. To reverse or remove color in the regular world, all you need to do is to bleach the surface in question. The same process needs to be done in the skin as well but the only difference is that the substances used are different. Before you embark on a skin bleaching procedure, you need to understand why skin darkens and how the reversal works.

Skin color is determined by melanin in the skin. Humans all over the world are blessed with different amounts of melanin as a factor of genetic predisposition. This is because melanin is not just something to give us a shade of color but is also a protective agent against ultraviolet radiation. You can imagine the damage that ultraviolet radiation can do to living cells from the fact that it is used to disinfect objects of bacteria, or you can even see this when someone gets a sun burn and the whole skin inflames from the damage. When ultraviolet comes into contact with the skin melanin, a chemical reaction called oxidative stress takes place, which is basically an incomplete oxidizing reaction because there isn’t enough oxygen in the skin for a complete oxidation. This causes the melanin to darken. To reverse this procedure, you need to bleach the skin. This can be done by using substances like bleaching creams that contain hydroquinone, retinoids, azelaic acid, and vitamin C. Hydroquinone is one of the most effective bleaches but is also carcinogenic. Retinoids are vitamin A variants that cause skin growth and are also used to treat skin ageing and wrinkles. Azelaic acid can be obtained by consuming lots of rye and bran, working by suppressing melanin production in the skin.

The natural way to go to bleach the skin is to use vitamin C. For this, make a paste out of lemon juice and strawberry pulp and simply apply it onto your skin for half an hour before washing off. You should also increase the amount of pomegranate and seafood that you eat as these also have the ability to suppress melanin production. Most importantly, use a sunscreen from now on for all exposed skin to avoid getting more tanned, and that too unevenly. Also avoid being in the sun between twelve noon and three in the afternoon as this is the time when UV radiation beats down the most.
