Natural Cures For Elbow Rashes

By Patricia | July 16, 2009

If you have an itch on your elbow that is associated with a rash, do not scratch it. Scratching it can cause it to lead to a further infection and take a longer time to heal. To relieve the urge to scratch it you can apply calamine lotion to this part. You can also use an Aloe Vera lotion to relieve and sooth the rash. Using the gel out of a young plant leaf is the best option, if available. For maximum relief apply it fresh every six hours for three to four days. To help relieve the itch at night, apply vitamin E oil, olive oil, or primrose oil to the rash.

When you are traveling try to keep the rash out of direct sunlight or keep it covered. Exposing it to the sunlight or your surroundings can elevate your risk of infection. Try to use water and soap on it as sparingly as possible. If the area needs to be cleaned, do not clean it more than two times a day. When you clean the area try to use a mild soap or gentle cleansing agent. Use a clean cloth or cotton ball to swab the elbow and discard it after use.

You can consume citrus fruits containing vitamin C or an over the counter vitamin C supplement as a preventive measure.
