I am having hair loss, please suggest some helpful diets and food habits to avoid it

Hair loss and how to treat it depends almost completely on what sex you are. This is because the reasons for pattern baldness in men and women are different and completely different in their onset. While men could face this problem from as early an age as twenty, women will only face this problem as a result of age. This is because of the play of hormones in a man’s body that can end up making his hair fall off. Treating hair loss is a protracted and complicated set of procedures that could end up taking many months and in some cases years to correct; therefore, start working on this today.

What Causes Hair Loss

Female hair loss is usually caused by any number of conditions that range from dietary problems, pregnancy, thyroid over or under-expression, vitamin deficiency, and mechanical stresses on hair. Male pattern baldness, however, is a rather simpler issue. Men have two main hormones that control the male characteristics and libido: testosterone and dihydrotestosterone or DHT. DHT is a result of the syntheses of testosterone into a more powerful form and is a powerful sex hormone. A side effect of high levels of this hormone is an accumulation of DHT in the hair follicles that call it to fall off. Typically, hair does fall off as part of its life cycle of growth and death and this can be seen in hair that falls off with a black bulbous root. If the hair falls off with white tip, which is its sebaceous gland, then this is a sign of male pattern balding on its way. Treating male pattern balding could take years and cannot be attacked with simple home remedies.

Hair Loss Prevention With Diet And Vitamins

In either case, male or female hair loss, you need to start ingesting more biotin, which is a part of the vitamin B family. The deficiency of this vitamin can actually cause balding though it is usually reversed when intake resumes. Biotin can be acquired from dairy or supplements taken in the evening, when its absorption is the highest. The next step is to not subject your hair to mechanical damage by rough combing, chemicals, or heat treatments. Cutting the hair regularly also stops it from breaking off if you have weak hair. Men need to consult their doctor before taking a drug called finasteride. This drug blocks the synthesis of DHT. Additionally, minoxidil should be applied to the hair to start growing the hair back and ketoconazole shampoo should be used. This is an antidandruff shampoo but also has some affects against male pattern balding.
