There is dark ring around my neck, what natural treatment should I apply

Skin Discoloration Causes

Looks are very important to all of us. Even those of us who claim that we do not care about our looks, spend some time of the day, standing in front of the mirror, thinking about our appearance. We are all a little self involved when it comes to our looks, though some people may be more involved in themselves than the others.

We tend to go through various expensive beauty products and treatments however; we forget to sometimes take care of our health on which our beauty actually depends. Our diet has a very important role to play in how our skin looks. We need to start taking care of our skin.

This dark coloration on the skin is nothing but hyper pigmentation which can either be caused by exposure to sun or by spillage of insulin in your skin. Though because the skin of the neck is constantly exposed, there are good chances that the discoloration of the neck is a direct result of sun tanning.

The skin has cells called melanocytes that create a pigment called melanin. It is this melanin in our body that gives the color to the skin. Melanin is also an important pigment which acts as a shielding agent against the harmful ultra violet rays. The ultra violet rays can harm the skin and are cancer inducing. The more you expose your body to the sun, the more melanin it will produce as a defense mechanism.

In time this skin is shed off and a newer layer will emerge from underneath. However, due to the constant interaction with outside environment and the constant tanning, the new skin also quickly becomes darkened.

Treatment

It is important to shield your skin from the sun when it’s at its brightest. Avoid venturing outdoors without apt skin

protection between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. before leaving the house, moisturize yourself well and also apply a good sun screen or a sun block - depending on the climate and weather condition. Treat your neck as a part of your face. Whatever beauty regimen you follow, include your neck in it too.

The use of lemon as a natural bleaching agent has been well appreciated. Use it to scrub your neck everyday till the blackness vanishes completely. Also use a mild and gentle skin scrub like papaya or apricot. Regularly cleanse and tone your face and neck –at least twice a day – once before you step out of your house and once before you sleep. Your skin will start to glow again.
