Reducing or losing weight takes a lot of determined effort, whether it is to maintain a strict diet or adhering to a specific exercise regime. Most weight watchers who want to lose weight usually draw up a restricted diet but completely neglect the need for exercises for weight loss and that is the main reason for them giving up half way through. Some people reduce their food intake suddenly and that makes them lose weight of the muscles and water.

However, if this is not sustained through a continuous exercise routine they are liable to put on more weight than what they would have recently lost. Experts believe that increasing your daily physical activity can be a very effective way to lose weight. Most people put on weight because they are not able to burn up all the calories that they put on either through their diets or through leading a sedentary and complacent life with minimum amount of exercise.

Exercises for weight loss could range from the simplest like climbing stairs to lifting weights to burn up more calories. Exercises like climbing up and down stairs instead of using the elevator, or increasing your household activity like bending over and sweeping or swabbing or even gardening or mowing the lawn acts as an effective way to loosen up muscles and burn up energy. Being active throughout the day helps you burn calories which in turn help you lose weight. One of the best and simplest exercises for losing weight is walking. Walking is the best way to strengthen and tone your muscles and increase your bone density and help you maintain the right posture. Always begin with a 15 minute warm up so that your body becomes flexible to face the exercises to follow. You may start your walking routine with a 20 minute walk but you can slowly increase your time and your speed. Other than walking, activities like jogging, swimming and rowing also help to burn up the fat in your body. Doing push ups, pull ups and chin ups are also effective exercises for weight loss. Moreover playing games like tennis or basketball will also help you to stay fit and burn up those extra calories. Apart from this you could also try aerobic dancing or workouts that can help you reduce your weight. It is best that you consult your health expert or your gym instructor and draw up an exercise regime that is best suited for your current weight and body type.
