How To Prevent Alopecia And Periodontitis In Children

Alopecia that has lasted for 12 years is usually considered irreversible but after the mechanism of hair loss has been understood better, there are some drug remedies. Bleeding gums or gingivitis is a possible symptom of periodontitis. This is a condition that cannot be corrected without the help of a dentist.

Alopecia is a condition that is also called male pattern balding. This is a situation that is caused by the male hormone dihydrotestosterone. It is created in the prostrate gland and is also found in the hair follicles, where its heightened level causes hair loss. The reason for this in some people as compared to others has been explained by evolutionary scientists as an indication that the male that is balding, is a mature individual and is a signal of being a better caregiver than other males. In modern society, this is hardly a distinguishing parameter. There are drugs that can be prescribed to counter this sex hormone and it works by blocking the production of dihydrotestosterone. There are no major effects though some people could face problems like erectile dysfunction and breast growth. These go away with the reduction in the use of the drug. For a home remedy, which is in no way an alternative to the main drug, you should increase your intake of Biotin. This can be acquired through vitamin B supplements and especially from milk. Biotin deficiency causes hair loss in children and adults therefore it should be eliminated as a factor.

Bleeding gums are a sign of weakened gums, or an inflammation from periodontitis. This is a problem that you will have to consult a dentist about, as the root cause of periodontitis is because of teeth growing incorrectly in the gums. The condition starts with a bacterial infection but even after this is over, the body’s inflammatory system plays havoc with the healing of the gums and the tooth. The first step you need to take right now is to maintain oral hygiene and more specifically, you need to start flossing regularly. Apart from this, wash your mouth with hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is a disinfecting medium and also clears out any dead tissue that would be a medium for bacteria in the area. Clove oil is also useful for your teeth and gums. It is a mild anesthetic as well as an antiseptic treatment. You should use this as a mouthwash but you must hold it in your mouth for at least 15 minutes for results.
