Extra Skin, inner thigh chaffing: It is very embarassing especially when going for a swim or having sexual intercourse that my inner thighs are dark in colour due to chafing since young. Please suggest remedy.

Dark inner thighs are usually caused when the thighs keep rubbing with each other. If you are overweight, or have heavy thighs, walking or running may cause your thighs to rub together. If you are in the habit of wearing tight fitting synthetic clothes, the friction caused due to the rubbing of skin and cloth can also cause darkening of the inner thighs. Chafing of inner thighs is more probable in heavy women than in women who are in the healthy weight category. In order to prevent thighs from chafing, you may have to shed a few pounds. Apart from the chafing of thighs, you may also experience skin chafing in other areas of the body. The chafing not only causes the skin in the area to darken but can also cause soreness to a point where the skin becomes raw and tender. Inner thigh chafing is a very common condition in women. The shape of women’s thighs causes them to chafe together more. Bulky men may also experience the same problem, but it is still more likely in women than in men.

If you are wondering how to get rid of chafing, the first thing is to lose a few pounds. There are other ways in which you can lighten the inner thighs. However, these are not as effective when the skin abrasion continues to occur. Skin abrasion and chafing is not only painful but can be very embarrassing when you are trying to get intimate or when you go for swimming in your swimwear. Moisturizing the inner thighs regularly is one of the easiest ways of ensuring that the thighs do not darken anymore. Moisturizing the thighs thoroughly can help reduce the chafing action. You can get inner thigh chafing treatment through cosmetic means as well. If you want, you can visit a cosmetician and get your thighs treated. Bleaching your thighs with cosmetic bleach can help lighten the thighs. However, if your thighs are raw and chafed, using bleach on them can only irritate the skin a little more.

How to get rid of dark inner thighs?

Chafing of inner thighs is caused when the thighs are very heavy, so losing some weight is the simplest way to get rid of dark inner thighs. Another effective thigh chafing remedy is hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is a mild bleaching agent, but it can burn your skin if it is already irritated. Unless your skin is completely healthy and free of any cuts and irritation, do not use any kind of chemical preparations on it. For reducing thigh chafing, wear comfortable cotton clothes that are lose fitting. Synthetic and tight fitting clothes can cause excessive sweating in the thigh area, therefore causing increased chafing and ultimately darkening of the inner thighs. Drink 10 glasses of water everyday to keep your skin hydrated. A chafing cream can help soothe the chafing in your inner thighs. However, when your skin is properly hydrated, it may prevent chafing completely and may be able to give your thighs more room to breathe.

Chafing of love handles, legs, abs as well as lower abs is very common in overweight people who wear tight fitting clothes. To reduce chafing of this kind all over the skin, it is important to ensure that you wear lose fitting clothes that allow your skin to breathe. If you have excess fat, try losing some and get back in shape. Although chafing of hips is possible when you wear heavy synthetic fabrics, chafing of outer thighs is not really possible unless you are wearing excessively tight clothes. If you experience chafing on your stomach, inner thighs, and crotch area, you may need to change your wardrobe to include some loose and comfortable clothes. Chafing of the inner thighs’ skin may require extra care as it tends to become raw. Use a mild unscented soap on it in order to use as little chemicals on the raw skin as possible. If you use talcum powder on your inner thighs, avoid using it anymore. Tight fitting clothes may also cause chafing of the arms and blisters on the inner thighs due to chafing.

When it comes to chafing of the stomach, one cause is tight fitting elastic bands. You can switch to loose pants and skirts, and use a belt to hold them in place instead of using tight elastic bands. It is essential to give your skin some breathing space, or chafing of the stomach fat will give you stomach blisters and cause a lot of pain. The chafing of inner thighs due to friction can be reduced by drying the inner thighs periodically. Every time you use the toilet, you can use a tissue paper to wipe your inner thighs and get rid of any moisture that may build up. If you are wondering how to get rid chafing of the inner thighs, use only natural methods to treat your condition. Vitamin E oil can be rubbed onto your thighs to improve the skin texture and to lighten the skin. Vitamin E can also help revive collagen, therefore causing less pain and chafing.

If you want to bleach your inner thighs to improve the complexion, you can use a bleaching agent known as hydroquinone. However, check with your medical practitioner before hydroquinone, because it can cause thyroid disorders, liver damage and leukemia as well. If you do decide to use hydroquinone, you can use other treatment methods in conjunction with hydroquinone. Regularly treating and cleansing the area with water and mild cleansers can also have the desired effect. Also try and keep your intimate areas clean. If you are planning to wear short clothes, you can use sunscreen on your inner thighs to keep them safe from sun damage. To rejuvenate your thighs, use a mild apricot scrub. However, do not scrub your thighs very vigorously as that would cause further chafing. Scrubs should not be used on raw and tender skin of the inner thighs. Lemon juice can be used on the inner thighs and can be applied using a soft cotton pad. Lemon juice can bleach the skin naturally and can improve the texture of the skin as well.

Your skin has actually formed extra hard protective layer to protective itself from frictional damage. This is a natural phenomenon that occurs to most people and sometimes occurs on the feet when wearing tight shoes or on the fingers of guitar players. The blackening however that you described is because of extra amounts of dead skin loaded with melanin or could even be accumulated skin debris. The way out of this situation is to get rid of the extra layer of skin immediately.

Immediately, may be a subjective term because the return of your skin back to normal starts with reducing the chafing that is occurring now. This is actually quite easy to achieve. All you have to do is wear clothing that protects your thighs from each other. Trousers and jeans are good start as well as full-length stockings. This will stop the continuous damage from your thighs rubbing together, thus containing further chafing damage. The next step is to start cleaning the area with a strong acidic medium. Normally, citric acid can be prescribed for the job at hand but since time is of the essence and the area in question is not as sensitive, you can try salicylic acid. This is an over the counter preparation that is part of most acne and pimple treatments and works by destroying the proteins that bind dead skin together. A good scrub after applying the acid will then rid you of the skin. This has to be done on a daily basis for at least a month.

The next step after this is to start bleaching the skin. For this, a natural remedy is vitamin C. Make a concoction of onion juice, lemon juice, and sugar. Apply this as soon as it is ready on your thighs and allow it to dry over the area. When you are done, wash the area and then use some vitamin E oil and massage it into the area. When you have some time on your hands, make a fairness pack out of turmeric powder, milk cream and flour – and apply this to your thighs for a period of an hour. Scrub the area properly once you are done. All this has to go along with a moisturizing regime. Use a water-based moisturizer and never let the area go dry. You should also try to reduce weight on the thighs to prevent this from occurring again.
