Treatment for Flea Bites

By Patricia | August 12, 2009

An itchy flea bites will shortly manifest itself as an inflammation, if your body is not immune-compromised in anyway. The reason for the itchy feeling is the after effects of the flea bites, as the flea secreted its saliva while it was drinking blood to avoid being stuck in a blood clot. Generally, you do not have to worry about an insect but fleas tend to be vectors of disease like bubonic plague, typhus and a type of tapeworm infection. To ensure that you have not contracted any of these, you should get yourself checked by the doctor.

How To Treat

One of the things that you need to do is to attend to your flea bites. The first task is to disinfect the area of the bite. Start with an application of tea tree oil, as this will disinfect the area of the bite. Since the plague is caused by bacteria, start increasing the amount of natural antibiotic in the system by consuming a lot of garlic. This can be a bit of a challenge to the palate so you should be ready for it. Mash some garlic cloves with black peppers, roll three pills out of the mixture and swallow this with water. Garlic contains a natural antibiotic and antifungal called allacin and this will increase your resistance if you have any infections coming up. Increase your intake of cloves as well as this is very useful against any worm infections that could take place. Clove oil should be immediately followed by a glass of milk and a continuous intake of water. This is because clove oil has the side effect of increasing the amount of acid created in the body and therefore, ingesting a glass of milk immediate will counteract the action of the acid. Having water continuously keeps any acid in the stomach dilute, and not endanger your stomach. These should keep you going until you get yourself checked by the doctor.

Get Rid of Flea Bites

To avoid further flea bites, try to get a hold of some margosa oil and some diatomaceous earth. Margosa oil is a natural insecticide that you can apply to furniture in the house and most surfaces, and you can even use some on your pets. An additional tactic is to use the diatomaceous earth to prevent any flea larva in your house. Spread this earth in any cracks or crevices in the house. This earth can causes fleas that are trapped in it to dry out and die. After applying this around the house, all you need to do is vacuum the house. An alternative to this is to use common salt in large quantities.
