Homemade Remedies for Dry Feet

When it comes to caring for and pampering the body, the feet are more often than not the most ignored parts. Feet are also among the most overworked parts of our body. Lack of moisturizing is what causes the feet to become extremely dry. Though the problem affects people during winters, some people have dry feet through the year. Extreme dryness of feet also leads to cracked heels that are not only painful but also bleed if not treated in time. And, this is not where the trouble caused by dry feet ends. Pain caused by cracked heels makes it difficult to stand or walk, causing spinal and vertebrae problems if it’s not dealt with. Bleeding heels are also at a risk of leading to infections. The most important thing to do is to apply a moisturizer everyday after your shower. At night too, you must wash your feet and apply a moisturizer while going to bed. You must apply the moisturizer when your feet are still a bit moist. This will make sure that they don’t dry out. Also, make sure the moisturizer is oil-based. Roughness and dryness can be prevented by not stepping on rough surfaces barefoot and also wearing comfortable footwear to prevent harm to the feet.

To cure dry feet, just use some simple home remedies instead of chemical treatments. One of the easiest and most effective remedies is mixing Epsom salt in warm water and soaking your feet in it for about 20 minutes. You can also add a few drops of baby shampoo in the warm water and soak your feet in it. Massaging the feet with warm almond oil also prevents them from getting rough and dry. Just as you would treat your face with a face pack, you can treat your feet to avoid dryness and damage too. Take a whole ripe banana, mash and mix it with milk cream. Apply this to your feet regularly. Applying glycerin is also an effective remedy for treating dry and rough feet. It will give you better results if you mix it with olive oil. But, the mix should be left on your feet undisturbed. So, apply it at night while going to bed. You can cover your feet with thick cotton socks to let the moisture seep in. Improving blood circulation in your feet will also prevent dryness and roughness. Massage your feet with warm mustard oil for half an hour a week or even about 10 minutes every day.
