The butt, belly, and love handles are the most troublesome of these regions. People, who try to lose weight through diets only, face a lot of difficulty in shedding fat from these specific regions. Diet specialists and physiotherapists have proven that exercise is the best way to lose weight from areas like the belly and love handles.

They have developed several sets of exercises for this particular purpose including several exercises that help to sculpt these regions and promote a toned, muscular appearance. Both men and women share the same interest in losing fat from these regions, even though women may show more interest about sculpting these areas than men.

Yoga and Pilates are the best solution for this problem because yoga contains a lot of exercises that target these particular regions. With the aid of Pilates exercises, which train the core muscles, you will be able to get rid of the fat stored there.

Of course you need to maintain your balanced diet while you are performing these exercises. Some yoga postures like the Downward Facing Dog Pose and the other postures that take this pose as a starting point, like the Triangle Pose and Extended Side Pose are especially beneficial. All of these poses target your abdominal muscles, including the obliques, hips, and love handles as well.

Let me give you an example. With a pose like the Downward Facing Dog Pose, you are holding this position while your tummy is tucked inside and your ham strings are fully stretched. This position is of great benefit to your abdominal area. Another pose that emerges from the Downward Facing Dog Pose is the Triangle Pose, where you twist your waist to one side and extend your arms to the same side.

The key is not in performing the poses but in maintaining the pose for long enough to induce the desired effect. If you are required to hold your position for 30 seconds then 10 seconds will not do the trick. Hold your positions for the required amount of time and breath in a proper way and your love handles will disappear in a short time.
