For those who are not sure whether or not they are ready for advanced poses, the yardstick is simple. Having got a good grip of the all essential arm balances, inverted poses, and backward bends, the Yoga practitioner is now ready to try some of the advanced poses mentioned below. Bear in mind, however, that these poses are called advanced since they call for a lot more strength and flexibility than the elementary or intermediate Yoga poses. Both of these are got from practising a lot of Yoga over a long period.

So there is no need for any kind of rush to become an advanced student. The poses will still be there whenever the practitioner is ready for them.
