Causes Of Gum And Dental Abscess

Dental problems are among the most painful conditions to deal with. Yet, the threat they pose is continuously underestimated and people only regret ignoring them when the condition has become significantly worse and, therefore, harder to cure. When affected by an abscess, the puss will form in the gum and not in the bone. This is a very common condition and is ranked as the second most common dental condition. This phase of the condition, where the pus forms in the gum, is considered to be a more serious one and immediate treatment may be required. When the inflammation is allowed to spread to the supporting structures of the teeth, the resulting periodontal abscess will destroy the supporting structure of the teeth, the tissue and the bone. Gum abscesses can even form around a living tooth and, setting out from the root of the gum, the pus will penetrate into the bone and create a hole right in the bone. As a result, the bone material lying under the tooth will eventually be destroyed – causing the condition to get continuously worse.

Cure For Gum Abscess And Swelling

The more dental care you provide your teeth and gums at the earlier stages, the easier and more effective it would be to treat the condition. Subduing the pain is one of the primary concerns, and one of the best home remedy treatment options for this is to use some mouthwashe which is easily available in the market today. The anti inflammatory, anti fungal and anti bacterial properties of mouthwash make it one of the most potent solutions when dealing with the condition. One of the best ways to treat a dental abscess is to expose it to a certain amount of heat. This can be done by placing a clean, warm face cloth over the boil for a period of about 20 minutes at lease three times a day. Keeping a few heated face cloths handy will allow you to rotate them and make sure the heat remains constant. Perform this treatment on a regular basis for best results. The heat will bring the inflammation to a head. Another option would be to apply a dry tea bag between the tooth and gum and leave it there for a period of between 45 and 60 minutes. Try placing it on the non swollen side and raise your head slightly in order to allow the tea to soak over the gum and tooth for more effective results.
