Tips To Get Relief From Clogged (Blocked) Ear Due To Sinus Pressure

By Patricia | April 1, 2010

There is no natural way to drain out the ears. Clogged sinuses are always a problem and the only way to take care of them is by getting the sinuses to dry out. Over time, this will tend to happen on its own. However, as an immediate measure, it would become necessary to take antibiotics in order to accomplish this effectively. You are advised to go to your regular general health care provider and get this sorted out immediately. A delay may serve to make the situation worse. Typically, when the sinuses are clogged, they tend to become inflamed. Inflamed sinuses will push against the nerves they touch and cause more aggravation. For instance, inflamed sinus tracts can push against the nerve endings of the teeth and cause severe toothache and this will not even be remotely related to the teeth. Similarly, if the sinuses are clogged, you may also experience constant headaches. Closed ears are also painful, apart from being responsible for a feeling of disorientation and lack of enthusiasm. The best way to deal with clogged sinuses that have taken such a severe turn is to try and get them to empty out. Steam inhalations are the best way to get the sinuses to loosen up. If possible, add a couple of drops of eucalyptus oil to the steam inhaled. This will make all the difference. Once the tough clog of mucus begins to melt, it will find its way out through the nostrils and will keep getting coughed up in the throat. It is essential to spit this out and not swallow it instead. Repeated clearing of the throat and spitting out the residues will result in clearing out the sinuses to a large extent.

Apart from this, it is also a good idea to make a thymol drink and have this. Boil a tablespoon of thymol seeds in two glasses of water till it is reduced to half and drink this while it is hot. It will help to loosen the sinuses and will allow the mucus to pass out through the excretory system. Make a tea with a few peppercorns and cloves and keep sipping from this regularly. If it is too spicy, add a teaspoon of honey to it. Honey will not only help with the taste, it will also help because it has good healing powers. Keep at this even though instant results may not be visible.
