A stomach ache is one of the most common problems that each one of us has faced at some point. A stomach ache can radiate pain all the way from the groin to the chest and can be quite unbearable at times. Constipation is one of the reasons for stomach ache. The other factors that could lead to a stomach ache include gastritis, acidity, indigestion, food poisoning, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, hernia, appendicitis and the excessive formation of gas. In case home remedies are unable to provide relief and you still experience stomach ache and cramps regularly, consult your doctor to figure out the reasons for your stomach pain.

Home Remedy : Lemon Juice And Ginger Ale

Since the reasons for stomach aches are varied, some of the more common causes can be addressed with home remedies. Acidity, indigestion, and gas tend to be the main offenders when it comes to stomach aches. Acidity can be combated by immediately having a dairy product, preferably milk or yogurt, but you really only have to eat something, when you feel a burning sensation, to neutralize the acid. Indigestion can be cured by having some ginger ale or ginger tea. Trapped gas is more complicated and it is better to simply prevent it by having some probiotic yogurt every morning before you start your day. You should increase the intake of water after or during a meal in order to reduce the chances of constipation. You can also take lemon juice with honey as it aids bowel movement. For instant relief during a stomach ache, you can take a mixture of mint juice, lime juice and ginger juice and drink this mixture for instant relief. Constipation is ideally prevented by having a diet that is rich in fiber. This means consuming tough fibrous plant material like legumes and whole wheat products. There is also much to be said about eating at regular mealtimes and maintaining a healthy diet free of alcohol.

Other Home Remedies

In case you are suffering from gastritis, broccoli will serve well to alleviate the condition. This is a serious disease however and you must see a doctor to receive proper antibiotic treatment. Along with this, you can also make a powder with cumin seeds, dried mint leaves, black pepper, dried ginger, coriander, asafetida, and garlic. This powder should be taken with warm water after every meal to prevent the formation of gases therefore reducing the chances of a stomach ache.
