I have skin rashes and itching in my legs, I have tried many ointment like Hydocordizone ointment, please advice

It is quite odd that hydrocortisone ointment is not helping your rash because this is the medicine of choice when there is some kind of allergic reaction. Note here that this is absolutely the incorrect medicine to take if you are actually suffering from a skin fungus or some other kind of skin infection. This will in fact make the condition much worse and you could end up with necrosis if you continue using hydrocortisone. You need to remember some basics about skin ointments. Hydrocortisone and nearly any ointment that has a suffix of “sone” in the name is an indication of a topical corticosteroid. Corticosteroids are a class of drugs that are used to quell inflammation and tame the immune system reaction. Allergic inflammation is an example of one such reaction. Therefore, when you have hives, you apply hydrocortisone to relieve yourself of the hives. If an ointment contains a “mycin” as a suffix, it is an antibiotic ointment. However, this is not absolute so ask your pharmacist whether you are buying a corticosteroid or an antibiotic.

If you are suffering from a fungal infection, the same rules of using antibiotics will apply. This means that by using a corticosteroid cream, you are suppressing the immune system response in the area and allowing the fungus to gain further foothold in the area. You can usually tell a fungal infection of the skin by a redness that appears below the skin and in some cases will cause the skin to peel off. Additionally, as is the case in a ringworm infection, you might actually see a circular formation on the skin. To treat a possible problem of skin fungus, apply some hydrogen peroxide to the area and then apply some tea tree oil as well. Finally, cover the rash with a bandage and repeat this procedure till the problem goes away.

If your problem persists, then your allergy is quite severe and is related to something that your skin comes into contact with. When your rash starts to act up, take an ice cube and rub it over the rash until the skin is numb. This is a method called a cold compress and it suppresses the immune reaction in a matter of seconds. After this, take an over the counter allergy medicine or some anti-allergic medicine like diphenhydramine, which is an antihistamine or any kind of decongestant medication. Avoid coming into contact with the allergen again, which could just be the fabric of the clothing that you are wearing.
