The commonest cause of bad smelling gas is usually related to what you may have eaten. Most of the time, foul smelling gas emissions are a direct result of having eaten food that has been left undigested in the system. Like everything else organic food will also rot inside the body if it does not get digested and absorbed in the system. Some types of rot will stick to the insides, and thus make the body emit really foul smelling gases. In addition to indigestion, it also depends upon what type of food goes into the body. Strong smelling and strong textured foods would result in the discharge of an odor that is stronger and has a bad smell. Meat, for instance, will always stink if not digested properly by the body. Many a time, undigested food also has a tendency to stick to the insides and cause some amount of clogging. This way, it does not get out of the system either. It simply stays there and keeps festering and emitting all sorts of foul odors as a result of fermentation as well. This too leads to smelly farts, and can sometimes also lead to bad body odor. One of the oldest adages in the book is “what you eat is what you smell of”. This is also the way to find a solution for this particular problem.

In order to get rid of gas, it is important to have a digestive system that is clean and regularly flushed. A clean system will not produce any gases, let alone noxious ones. A basic system of cleansing should be followed for a couple of days each month. Keep the body free of eating complex foods for two days. Subsist on liquids and fresh fruits. This will allow the digestive system to rest and will also give it a chance to recover from the tiring process of working all the time. If possible, this should be done for two days at a stretch. Apart from this, try and add lots of water to the diet. This will allow the food to remain pure in content and will help with easy dispersion as well. Add fresh herbs to the diet. They will always help to keep the insides smelling pleasant and will make you feel good as well. Parsley, coriander, and even rose petals, when consumed in minimal quantities on a daily basis, will help to fight this problem as well.
