Tinnitus can be described as an ailment that can cause you to hear a ringing sound. It is a very common problem, affecting more than 20% of the people living in the US. Contrary to what many people believe, it is not a condition, but rather a symptom of an underlying condition, such as a circulatory system disorder, an ear injury or hearing loss because of progressing age. Though tinnitus is bothersome, it is rarely serious and can be easily treated, using simple home remedies and techniques. Several people also use Yoga poses for treating tinnitus. One of the most effective techniques in yoga for tinnitus is the Pranayama or the deep breathing technique. For best results, Pranayama (breathing exercises) should be practiced twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Is yoga helps cure ear ringing problem?

Ear ringing or tinnitus can be defined as the buzzing, ringing, hissing or crackling sound that a person hears in either one or both of his ears. The noise levels can range from a mild annoyance to a serious pain. Some of the main causes of this ear ringing condition may be because of diabetes, tumor, high blood pressure or low blood pressure and thyroid problems. Injury to the neck and head can also result in ear ringing. Some medications like antibiotics, sedatives, and aspirin, anti depressants and anti inflammatory medicines may also lead to this condition. Flu, colds, allergy flare ups can also be triggers for this problem. It is always advisable to seek medical help for a medical professional to ascertain the underlying cause of the condition. There are a variety of alternative methods available to that help to stop ear ringing and yoga is one of the ways to help with this problem. Some people use aromatherapy, others use acupuncture, relaxation therapies or homeopathy to treat this condition. There are some herbs like the ginkgo leaf extract that are also considered to be beneficial in treating this condition. Some studies indicate that black cohosh may also work as ear ringing treatment. Massage therapy, yoga and meditation are alternative ways to treat ear ringing.
