Tangerine Oil

The fruit tangerine was originally a native of China, before finding its way to Europe and the Americas. The United States, today, is the largest producer of tangerine and tangerine oil.

Tangerine essential oil is extracted from the peels of the citrus fruit, tangerine. It has a refreshing, citrus aroma and is known to be a very effective calming agent.

Calming Agent –

Tangerine oil works wonders on an agitated nervous system. It functions as a soothing agent and helps the body and mind to relax. It is used in aromatherapy for this ability. As the individual experiences a state of relaxation, it gives the body time to recuperate from stress and wear and tear. Tangerine oil is also very effective in controlling anxiety and panic attacks. It can also be used to cure depression, as it lifts spirits and promotes emotional strength.

Controls Spasms –

Tangerine has strong antispasmodic properties. This allows it to ease conditions set off by spasms. Spasms refer to an involuntary contraction experienced in the muscles, nerves, respiratory, digestive or nervous system. If left unchecked spasms can lead to convulsions, breathlessness, cramping, congestion, etc. Tangerine essential oil allows the nerves and muscles in the body to relax, thus easing pain and providing relief.

Anti-Septic –

Tangerine essential oil works as an antiseptic on open wounds, cuts and sores. If left untreated, these injuries can get infected and septic. Worse, the infection can spread to other parts of the body, leading to pain, discomfort and fever.

Tangerine oil fights and hinders bacterial growth in the body. This allows the wound to remain clean and protected, speeding up the recovery process.

Tangerine oil ensure healthy stomach functions. It boosts digestive and metabolic functions in the body by ensuring a balance in the secretion of digestive juices in the stomach. It ensures that bile production matches the amount of acids in the stomach. If the acids aren’t controlled, it can lead to a lot of discomfort and damage. In case of inflammation, ulcers and other wounds to the stomach, tangerine essential oil helps speed recovery.
