Benefits of Olive oil. Cooking with olive oil is gaining ground as it is highly beneficial to ones health. Olive oil is also used as a salad dressing, to make sautés and dips, and added to stews and soups.


Rich in monounsaturated fats, it helps in reducing the risks of coronary heart disease by regulating the ill effects of cholesterol. It is helpful in LDL cholesterol oxidation. Olive oil has anti-inflammatory, anti-hypersensitive, and anti-thrombotic properties. It helps create a balance between omega-6 and omega-3 fats, and is beneficial in preventing colon cancer and peptic ulcer. It is best to use extra virgin or virgin olive oil, as these varieties are of a superior quality possessing all the goodness of olives. It is beneficial in the treatment of illnesses like cancer and diabetes. Garlic boosts the immune system and is good for digestion. For good health adults can take one clove of garlic and children ¼ to ½ clove, upto thrice a day.
