Benefits and Steps of Rudra Mudra

The Rudra Mudra helps to govern and activate the Solar Plexus Chakra. Chakras are vortexes of energy that are said to be present in the body.

Mudras are specific hand gestures that help to harness and direct the energy that is present in the various Chakras. Performing the different Mudras helps to regulate the pathways though which Prana or the life force flows through the body.

Steps:

Here are the steps of the Rudra Mudra that will help you to gain control over the Solar Plexus Chakra and center the body:

  1. Sit down comfortably with your back straight and chin and chest held high. Postures such as the Padma Asana or Sukha Asana are especially suited for practicing Mudras.
  2. Breathe in and out through your nose. Calm your mind and imagine that you are at the center of a spinning wheel.
  3. Raise your hands and press the tips of each index finger, thumb, and ring finger together.

    The middle finger and little finger should extend straight out.
  4. Hold this posture for at least five minutes. You can perform the Rudra Mudra up to three to six times in a day.
