I am a girl of 23 years,my height is only 4 feet9 inch.I want to be above 5.Is it possible?

It is unlikely that you will gain more than a centimeter from yoga. Most people have reached their full height by age 18 (in some cases people have been known to grow until age 20 or 21, however, this is rare and unlikely). Nevertheless, you may receive a centimeter or two from releasing tension and stress from your back and spine. This may cause you to stand taller. Start out with some gentle spinal twists, followed by some bridge poses (do not push yourself if your back is tight) and follow up with the thread the needle pose.

Also, when you are standing in other yoga asanas, stand up as straight as you can and pretend that there is a string tied to the top of your head, pulling your head up to the ceiling. Tilt your head slightly forward and be aware of the string pulling you up straighter. Keep this in mind when practicing tree pose or prayer pose. Standing straighter throughout your yoga practice will help release stress from your back and spine. Relaxing tension through these asanas may add a centimeter or two to your overall height, but that is probably it. Gaining more than an inch is unrealistic.
