Sivananda Yoga Centers

The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers all over the world comprises a large list of ashramas, Yoga centers, and affiliated centers. Excluding the one at Gangotri – in the Himalayas in India – that is a cave, the rest of the ashrams remain open the whole year through. They are situated in the countryside and are operational and well outfitted so that visitors can reside for any number of days, weeks, months or more as they wish.

All the ashrams, centers and affiliated centers go by the same basic ashram schedule. This means two daily Yoga classes – morning and evening – two daily Meditation / Satsang sessions and two meals – vegetarian.
Most visitors choose to remain as guests. However, the ashrama offers other options such as eg. Work-study and temporary or permanent staff. Once every year the Sivananda organization conducts a Yoga Teachers Training Course in every location.
