Plagued by constant flatulence……..? Yoga, I found, is highly effective to treat flatulence.
Just try this. It’s called Mandalasana.
This is how it is done. Start with Salamba Sirsasana, then fold your knees and bend your legs behind your back on the floor. Do this without lifting your elbows from the floor and don’t disturbing the position of your head.
Now stretch the legs, one at a time and simultaneously lift up your dorsal and lumbar regions. Force down your heels tightly into the floor. Tighten the muscles of your butt, lift up your pelvic region and contract your knees, thighs and calf muscles. Try to hold the pose for 30 – 60 seconds. Normal breathing.
Without shifting your head, lift your chest and shoulders as high as you can.
Turn your legs sideways in a clockwise direction. Do this 1 after another and twist them around your head. After your legs have come to the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock locations, lift up your opposite shoulder a little, and raising your chest and forward, revolve your trunk.
After doing the complete circle clockwise, stop for sometime then, taking a few deep breaths, repeat the motion in the opposite direction.
For increased flexibility you will first have to make your spine flexible through Viparita Chakrasana. Begin with your neck and shoulders, slump down to the floor. Once your neck and shoulders have become strong enough and your back has become flexible, you will find it easier to do this asana.
