Wind Relieving Pose - Pavanmuktasana Pavanmuktasana or the ‘Wind Relieving Pose’ derives its name from the Sanskrit words ‘Pavan’ and ‘Mukta’.
While ‘Pavan’ means air, ‘Mukta’ implies the release or free.
This asana (pose) helps to bring about a balance of the wind the body of the practitioner.
Techniques:
- Lie down flat with your legs stretched straight forwards.
- Now take a long, deep breath and bend both your knees.
- Exhale, and press your folded legs to your abdomen.
- Next, lift up your head to bring your nose or chin to the knees.
- Use both hands to grip your shins in order to get the maximum pressure.
- Hold the posture for around 30 seconds
- Now release your knees and put your feet back on the floor.
- Lie back, stretch out your legs and relax.
