Losing weight with the help of yoga asana is successful and popular with many people who follow it regularly. Spot weight reduction like losing weight at a particular spot like arms or thighs is only possible and more seen when you lose your overall fat or weight. Listed here are specific asana which will help you to specifically lose weight on your arms and thighs. These include sun salute, butterfly pose, angle pose, triangle pose, hero pose I and II, celibacy pose, dog pose – face up and face down and advanced wind releasing pose.

  • Butterfly pose – sit on a yoga mat or on the floor in sukhasana. Bend both knees and with the help of your hands bring both the soles of the feet together. Place then under the crotch area and hold them with interlaced paws for stability. Keep the spine and neck straight and do not raise your heel. Breathe in. Rest your elbows on thighs and without using any pressure of elbows press both the thighs down. While exhaling raise both the knees upwards and repeat this motion 15-20 times. Keep a proper breathing rhythm while performing this asana.
  • Advanced wind releasing pose – lie straight on a yoga mat on your back with your legs straight. Place both the hands on the sides. Lift your left leg while inhaling bending at the knee towards your chest. With the help of your hands hold it there. Raise your head from the shoulder and try to touch your chin on the knee. Remain in this pose for 15 seconds and then repeat the same pose using right leg. Both the legs can also be lifted together after you complete individual legs 5 times each. A pressure should be maintained on the abdomen using the left/right thigh and knee.
