Weight Reduction Asanas

I am 20yrs old & weigh 85kg.i want to reduce my weight what shall i do?

Yoga is an excellent way to help weight loss when combined with a proper diet. Key in the process of losing weight is increasing your heart rate and metabolic rate. This will help you burn calories and lose weight. If this is your goal, you may want to focus on more high intensity yoga styles, such as Power Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga. Both of these styles of yoga incorporate asanas that are done at a faster rate and with a greater intensity than other types of yoga such as Hatha Yoga. Both incorporate vinyasa’s and Sun Salutations to increase your heart rate. Both types of yoga may be done in a heated room for added effect and benefit. Try practicing these styles with an instructor if you are a beginner as these are more advanced styles of yoga and often require assistance in order to maintain proper breathing and asanas.

Don’t forget that the yogic lifestyle may help you lose weight as well. Of particular interest is the yogic diet,which includes strict vegetarianism. Increasing your fruit and vegetable intake will help you maintain the right levels of vitamins and minerals needed to practice yoga daily and keep your body healthy.
