Essential Diffuser Oil

Aromatherapy is a holistic treatment of caring for the body using essential oils such as rose, cedar, basil, and tea tree.

Essential oils are highly concentrated liquid extracts that contain the aroma and therapeutic properties of the plant they are derived from. A practitioner can use massaging techniques and deliver the oils to your skin directly or use a diffuser so that you inhale the aromatic compounds from the oils. The aromatic compounds are easily absorbed by the lungs via breathing and then carried by the bloodstream to different parts to help heal and regulate the body.

Aromatherapy diffusers are a fantastic option to synthetic air fresheners that might cause allergic reactions. Not only does the diffused oil have a great fragrance, it also acts on your physical and physiological well being. Depending on the therapeutic benefit, different types of essential oils can be used.

Carrier oils should not be used for diffusion as they are not concentrated enough.

There are several methods available for diffusion. Many of these methods can be easily done at home, but diffusers are also available for purchase. You could simply put a few drops of an essential oil on a tissue paper. Although easy, the fragrance is lost very soon and it does not diffuse everywhere. The next method is to add about 10 drops of essential oil to boiling water. This method quickly diffuses oils into the room; however, the heat can perhaps destroy some of the therapeutic properties of the oils.

Aromatic candles or oil burners are an easy method of diffusing oils as they are usually inexpensive. Similarly, fragrance reed diffusers are simple to use. It just involves dipping reed sticks into a bottle filled with essential oils. This method does not require much maintenance.

Other types of diffusers include lamp ring diffusers that sit around a lamp and start diffusing from the heat of the lamp. However, if any oil gets into the lamp, it would get easily damaged. The next type is a fan diffuser that has a pad or tray with oil in front of the fan. These diffusers come in a variety of sizes and usually run on batteries but tend to be noisy sometimes. Aromatherapy electric diffusers are small devices into which oil needs to be added and it is powered by electricity. These diffusers are extremely efficient in diffusing aromas. Lastly, nebulizers are very useful as they break down the oil molecules before diffusing them, thus making it easier to be absorbed.
