  • Sit down comfortably in the Sukha Asana (Easy Pose), Padma Asana (Lotus Pose), or Siddha Asana (Accomplished Pose). You may even perform this meditation while seated comfortably on a chair or also in the Mountain Pose or Tada Asana.
  • Ensure that your back is straight, shoulders are relaxed, and chest is open and held high.
  • Inhale and exhale gently as you focus on lowering your heart rate and enter a meditative state.
  • Slowly let the hands come up to your chest, clasp your fingers and press the knuckles of your thumbs gently into the depression between your pectoral muscles.
  • Continue to breathe gently and deeply as you empty your mind of all external thoughts. Focus on your breathing until you can clearly feel the beating of your heart.
  • Bring your palms together and rub them vigorously to warm them. Place your right palm on your sternum and your left hand on top of your right arm. Continue to breathe deeply as you visualize energy flowing from your hands to your heart and then radiating outwards to all the extremities of your body.
  • Try to visualize the green light of the heart chakra expanding and suffusing the entire body in its warm glow.
  • Now slowly release your hands and bring your palms so that they face forward on either side of your chest. Keep your elbows bent. Feel the energy from the heart chakra as it radiates outwards from your body into the universe.
  • Now reach your arms up to the sky and clasp your hands in the classic prayer position. Inhale deeply. Exhale and return to the starting position.
