How to lose fat from body through yoga?


Apart from providing a healthy lifestyle, Yoga is also known to reduce fat and maintain weight. People from all over the world have greatly benefitted from yoga techniques. Stress is considered to be one of the major reasons for weight gain. Yoga helps in reducing stress to a great extent. There are various yoga exercises which help in losing weight and can be done by people of all age groups.

Yoga exercises are also known as yoga asanas which are known to have a deep impact on our body's metabolism. Losing weight is one of the main reasons why people conduct yoga exercises on a daily basis. Some of the yoga asanas which you can do at home are listed below:-

  • Pranayama - Pranayama is one of the most effective and oldest yoga techniques. The technique involves controlled and deep breathing which can be done at any place and at any time. Deep breathing helps in reducing weight to a great extent. The oxygen that enters the body reaches the cells of the body. When the oxygen reaches the fat cells of the body, the cells start to burn up or oxidize. Perform pranayama as many times in a day as it is very healthy and does not have any kind of side effects on the body.

  • Matsya Asana - Matsya Asana is also known as the 'fish pose'. Lie on your back with your hands on the side. Bend your knees completely and with the help of your head and hands, raise your chest. Hold this position for at least 30 seconds and come down slowly. Do this technique at least four times in a day. You can also perform this technique without bending your knee.

  • Sarvanga Asana - This Yoga Asana is also known as the 'candle pose' or the "shoulder stand". Lie down on your back with your hands on the side and feet together. By applying pressure on your hands, slowly raise your legs to a 90 degree angle. Now raise your spine in the same angle. Hold this position for 10 seconds and slowly rest your body on the ground. Repeat this method at least four more times.

Apart from following yoga exercises, it is highly recommended to follow a healthy diet. Yoga recommends on consuming foods which are high in protein, calcium and vitamins. Yoga also recommends following a vegetarian diet which comprise of green vegetables, fresh fruits and juices. You can seek additional advice from a yoga teacher or a yoga center near you.
