Pilates and Yoga provide extraordinary benefits.



Both have proved their ability to support the development of long, healthy, elegant bodies that move powerfully without developing bulk. Both sciences help integrate and are associated with stress management and enhanced well-being.



Both Yoga and Pilates can be used as restorative systems. They are both adjustable for a wide range of people and levels of fitness.



Also, both support the attainment of extremely high levels of body-mind-spirit fitness.

 

When folks think of Yoga and Pilates, oftentimes they think Yoga is "spiritual" and Pilates isn’t. while Yoga offers a long history of association with spiritual practice, or of being a spiritual practise by itself we wouldn't put Pilates as directly a spiritual context as Yoga. However, for folks seeking body-mind-spirit union, Pilates can be a very satisfying practice.

 

Joseph Pilates learnt Yoga and meditation, plus ancient Greek philosophy. It is clear from his writings and the philosophy that he instilled in his work, that he was extremely interested in higher ideals.

 

Yoga and Pilates – Classes and Integrity

 

While the exploration of Yoga-Pilates and mix and match is valid – it can enhance your fitness levels – it is also vital to remember that Yoga and Pilates are both, complete, distinctive, and sophisticated sciences. Actually getting to know one of them and absorbing their full benefits takes time. To derive the rewards of Yoga or Pilates, you need an instructor, at least for some of your study, and one must practice regularly.

 

Yoga and Pilates combo classes are cropping up everywhere. Still, folks should be aware that while there are great Pilates certifications and Yoga teacher training programs, turning into a good instructor for Yoga or Pilates calls for a substantial amounts of time and effort. This is why you have to take care that your instructor really has adequate training in both Yoga Pilates and teaches them together. As folks continue investigate the benefits of Yoga and Pilates together, it will be up to them and the teachers to watch and maintain the integrity of both disciplines.
