I am unable to breathe properly in sleep and I also feel some sticking sensation in the throat. Is there any breathing technique in yoga?

The first step would be to identify why you experience this sensation at night. It could be that you are allergic to something in the atmosphere, your room, or your bed. Try to switch things around by changing your pillow, your bed sheet, or using an air purifier. It is also a good idea to consult a doctor and identify the root cause of your problem. If the problem is due to an allergy, there are tests that can help you hone into the exact nature of the allergen.

Practicing yoga as an adjunct to the therapy specified by your doctor can be an effective way of solving this problem. You should especially focus on yoga breathing techniques such as Pranayama to help you obtain better control over your breath and strengthen your lungs. Heart Chakra meditation is another effective method of dealing with respiratory problems. Fast paced forms of yoga such as Bikram Yoga, Power Yoga, and Ashtanga Yoga will also help you to develop your lungs so that they are less prone to infection. JalNeti is a good way of clearing the nasal passages and sinuses. However, do ensure that you use pure distilled or boiled water in the Neti pot.
