Yoga tonic for heart

Yoga for heart has healing quality not only for patients suffering from heart diseases but also for other related disorders like high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity. Yoga plays a preventive role in the development of any cardiovascular diseases, hypertension and coronary heart diseases. It helps prevent the recurrence of having an attack by its direct influence on the hypothalamus – a region of brain which controls the endocrine activity. The best heart tonic would be when you follow the five essential parts of the yoga technique which are yoga asana or postures, pranayam or breathing technique, yoganidra or deep relaxation, imaginary or visualization and meditation.

Anjali mudra – this is an excellent way to reduce stress and anxiety, calm the brain, balance the energies and avoid any heart diseases. For this sit in a crossed legged position comfortably, bring your hands together and inhale. Press both hands against each other and hold them close to the heart. Bow the head gently as if you are praying. Stay in this position for 5 minutes till a feeling of peace takes over you.

Swastikasana – sit on the floor with a straight spine and legs crossed. Cross your legs by placing the right heel on the inner side of left thigh and vice versa. Place your hands on your respective knees. Be in this position for 5-10 minutes.
