Yoga has been proven to help lower LDL or bad cholesterol. Yoga can help lower stress, which results in lower cholesterol. One great feature of yoga as a stress reducer is that you do not need any special equipment and you can do it at home or through a class at the gym. Your flexibility and movements will improve with each session and so will cholesterol levels over time (don’t expect result over night). Some added side effects of yoga are greater flexibility and a gentle toning of the muscles (which may result in weight loss). The practice of yoga improves the blood and oxygen flow around the body that aids in the removal of toxins and waste. For yoga to be truly beneficial in lowering of your unwanted cholesterol it must be practiced on a regular basis.
Yoga can help maintain good health and prevent complications of bad living style such as heart disease and stroke. Thus, the issue is not so much whether an activity can reduce cholesterol: the real issue is whether heath in general is improved. From this perspective, yoga improves health and maybe at the same time cholesterol will be reduced, particularly if a sensible diet is followed as well. It’s a pain-free way to meditate away your daily stress while lowering cholesterol.
